March 31, 2008 by Sittingbourne SA Scout GroupThis Site was set up and Maintained by Graham Phillips our Former Cub leader who has recently Moved to South Australia with his family. We would like to thank Graham, for the time and effort put into this site on behalfof the Group.
The Site will now be maintained by Assistant Scout Leader Martin Noakes and we wish him well with his efforts.
Cub Leader Down Under
March 8, 2008 by Sittingbourne SA Scout GroupAlmost a year to the day since the Cub pack reopened the group sadly said goodbye to ‘Akela’. Cub Scout Leader Graham Phillips has led the pack through its reformation over the past year but is now retiring from that role as he migrates with his family to Adelaide, South Australia.
Graham has completed 24 years as a Leader in various from Cubs to GSL in three different Salvation Army Scout Groups. Major Jepson thanked Graham for his contribution to the development of the 1st Sittingbourne (SA) Scout Group and in particular the Cub Pack and prayed God’s blessing on Graham and his family as they move to Australia.
The pack will be now run by Kyle Mortimer and Paul Phillips.
Happy 1st birthday
March 6, 2008 by Sittingbourne SA Scout GroupThe Group celebrated its first birthday with a party. The evening was a joint meeting for all memebers of the group and their parents. We looked back over the very busy first year and looked forward to an even better one to come.
As at all good parties there were games and food and a celebration birthday cake for the group. Photo’s are following shortly
Major Jepson led a time of reflection and prayer thanking God for what the group had achieved and will achieve in the coming days.
First Silver’s for Cubs
March 6, 2008 by Sittingbourne SA Scout GroupTwo Cubs, Matthew Phillips and Thomas Noakes gained their Silver Chief Scout’s Award and were presented with them on the occasion of the Group’s first birthday by Cub Scout Leader Graham Phillips. The Silver Chief Scout’s award is the highest award that a Cub can attain.
Both Cubs will shortly be leaving the Pack Matthew, moving with his Family to South Australia and Thomas is due to go to Scouts sometime after Easter.
