Dedicated, Commissioned and Warranted.

May 28, 2007

It was an exciting morning as the Group paraded its Cub and Scout Colours for the first time. The Colours entered the hall furled led by the Salvation Army Young People’s corps flag. The Group gathered on the platform with the flags and the Corps Officer Captain Robert Jepson.

In dedicating the flags Captain Jepson asked each young person to take hold of a part of the flag as he reminded everyone what the significance of the colours were as a rallying point and what they stood for. He also reminded everyone that the Group was very much part of the Salvation Army Church.

The District Commissioner Mrs Tracey Swift invested Martin Noakes as a leader and presented him with his Assistant Scout Leaders Warrant. GSL Gary Chadwick, CSL Graham Phillips and ACSL Kyle Mortimer were presented with their Warrants of Service and Local Officer Commissions.

Activity day 2

May 6, 2007

On 5th May we held an activity day with the 9th Sittingbourne Guide Group at our Bexon Lane District Camp site near Bredgar. Around 35 people took part in the activities which included the Athletes badge, field games, blindfold string trails, tracking and fires.

An interesting activity for the leaders was fathoming out how to put up a tent we have had donated without any instructions, five of them managed in about half an hour to work it out! The day finished with a camp fire and the presentation of two seconders badges to two of the Cubs.
